Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during a Sunday afternoon at a Mother’s Day champagne brunch. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (13-19) scored fewer runs than the New York Mets (19-11), 4-3, in the final game of four at Petco Park yesterday afternoon, splitting the series at two games apiece.

Andrew Cashner (2-3, 4.93) left after five innings with cramping in right hamstring, after giving up three runs on nine hits and a walk with just one strikeout. Kevin Plawecki scored on a Eric Campbell single, who then was brought home by an Asdrubal Cabrera single, all with two outs in the first inning. Yoenis Cespedes led off the third inning with a solo home run to left field. Cabrera hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to score Matt Harvey.

Harvey (3-4, 4.50) allowed two runs on four hits and two walk while striking out ten in six innings. Christian Bethancourt put the Padres on the board with a two-run home run deep to left field with Alexei Ramirez on first and one out in the fifth inning. Bethancourt later scored the Padres’ third and final run on a balk with Alex Dickerson up to bat in the seventh inning.

The Padres travel to Chicago to take on the Cubs (24-6) for three games starting tonight at 5:05pm PDT. Cesar Vargas (0-1, 1.10) gets the start this evening against Jon Lester (3-1, 1.58).
