While You Were Drinking: Game 98 (SD vs StL)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking

The Padres jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the Cardinals, and no one got comfortable. Because Edinson Volquez was on the mound for the Friars. After pitching three perfect innings, Volquez allowed three runs in the next two, leaving after 5 innings. So, it could have been worse. Much worse.

The Padres bullpen kept the Cardinals at bay to preserve the win, 5-3.

Today it will be Eric Stults on the mound against Adam Wainwright. First pitch is at 11:15am PDT.
