Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an an evening in the pub. So here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.
The Bad News – Clayton Kershaw beat the Padres 2-1.
The Good News – Chase Headley homered in the sixth, snapping Kershaw’s scoreless inning streak at 41 1/3. Somewhere Orel Hershiser cracked open a new can of mousse and satisfyingly ran his hands through his hair.
More Bad News – Tommy Medica left the game in the second inning with ‘tightness in his groin’. He’s day-to-day (to quote Keith Olbermann, Aren’t We All).
More Good News – Odrisamer Despaigne was awesome again, rolling through seven innings with seven strikeouts. Most nights that’s good enough to win; except when the reigning NL Cy Young winner opposes you.
San Diego plays in Chavez Ravine all weekend. Tonight Jesse Hahn stares down Dan Haren.
Kershaw’s streak ends in defeat of Padres – Dennis Lin (SDUT)
Headley’s HR not enough to derail Dodgers ace – Corey Brock (MLB)
Clayton Kershaw’s scoreless streak ends, but his victories continue – Bill Plaschke (LA Times)
Apologies this is a little abrupt; I did not see any part of last night’s game.
