While You Were Drinking: Game 74 (SD vs. LA)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres beat the the Dodgers in game two of the series by a score of 5-2. Clayton Richard left the game after two pitches due to injury but was picked up by the relief work of Tim Stauffer, Tyson Ross, Dale Thayer, and Huston Street. The Padres are now 38-36 and in sole possession of 2nd place in the NL West, 2.5 games behind Arizona.

“I think we’re throwing the whole lineup at him (Kershaw). We’ve having good at-bats. Fortunately, we’ve been able to get to him a little bit,” Headley said. “We’ve beat him a few times but we haven’t beat up on him.” [Brock]

Chris Denorfia immediately got the Padres back into the game when he hit a solo HR off of Clayton Kershaw in the bottom of the first.
