While You Were Drinking: Game 145 (SD vs PHI)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after an evening in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

After rain delayed the start of last night’s game by an hour, the Padres lost a laugher, 10-5, in Philadelphia. Tyson Ross couldn’t get out of the first inning, giving up 6 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks with 2 K’s accounting for the only outs he recorded. In other words, he pulled a Volquez.

On the plus side, the Friars smacked Roy Halladay around, who only lasted 4 1/3 innings, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits and 5 walks with 6 K’s. But they were never able to overcome that horrible first inning.

Tonight, the Padres are in Atlanta. Ian Kennedy faces David Hale tonight at 4:30pm PDT.

“I saw Adam Wainwright give up nine runs a while back in a game against the Reds. Adam Wainwright is a pretty damn good pitcher. So is Tyson Ross. It happens to the best of them.”

Adventures In Being Alexi Amarista

Will Venable crushes a 2-0 fastball over the wall in right for a leadoff homer that opens the scoring.

Tommy Medica chops a single into the infield, scoring Alexi Amarista and another run comes home on a throwing error to first.

Alexi Amarista makes a tumbling catch in traffic on Darin Ruf‘s fly ball to limit the Phillies to a run on the play.
