Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after an evening in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.
Andrew Cashner has been really dialed in during his last four or so starts, this time working into the 8th inning and striking out 7 Phillies on his way to the win. Chase Headley mixed in some offense and just like that the Padres have won 6 of their last 7 ball games and find themselves in sole possession of 3rd place in the NL West at 66-77. It’s easy to wonder how they’re doing it day in and day out but you need not look further than Andrew Cashner, Tyson Ross, and
Jason Marquis Ian Kennedy.

Two up, two down: Padres 8, Phillies 2 – Jeff Sanders (UT- San Diego)
“I feel stronger than I did at the beginning of the year,” Cashner said. “I told myself at the All-Star break that I was going to cut loose and pitch with a little more fire.” [Brock]
as a political science professor, I think it is important to remind everyone that the #Padres game is still on and we're winning big

Cashner looking good w/ extra rest. Didn't have typical scary first inning. Bud Black is like Stephen Hawking with a lineup card. #Padres

This is definitely worth watching if you missed it yesterday. Mud was doing a comedy routine while Enberg was trash talking the Phanatic.
Cashner came out and went all Deer Hunter on this road trip to Pennsylvania – and it was glorious.
