While You Were Drinking: Game 140 (SD vs. COL)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking. This especially applies if you attended Padres Beerfest.

The Padres defeated the Rockies in the bottom of the 9th inning by a score of 4-3 on a walk-off foul ball hit from Jesus Guzman. Chase Headley had 3 strikeouts in 3 at-bats before tying the game up at 3 with a moonshot leading off the 9th.

Tonight at 5:40pm PDT Tyson Ross takes the mound against Tyler Chatwood. Someone get me a luchador mask that likely won’t fit my big melon. I’ll be your best friend.

“I always like the long ball. I gave up over 200 of those, so when our guys hit ’em, I sort of like ’em.”

I’m pretty sure Dick Enberg had a stroke right in the middle of calling this play.

Chase Headley hit the ball real hard.

Jesus Guzman laces a walk-off RBI single down the left-field line, scoring Kyle Blanks to give the Padres a 4-3 win in the ninth.

Chase Headley crushes a game-tying solo home run to deep left off Rex Brothers to even the score at 3 in the bottom of the ninth.

Todd Helton takes Huston Street deep to center for a solo home run giving the Rockies a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth.

On a Jedd Gyorko ground out to third, a Todd Helton throwing error allows Chris Denorfia to score to tie the game at 2 in the sixth.
