Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.
The Padres took the second game of the 3 game series against the Giants last night 3-2 moving them 1 game up on their bitter rivals in the battle for last place in the NL West. The Padres also inched closer to evening up the 2013 season series that the Giants currently lead 8-7. Early on it seemed like it was going to be a long night for starter Robbie Erlin as the 1st inning seemed to have lasted into the 4th round of my fantasy football draft, but he worked through all the base runners and only gave up 2 runs in 5.1 innings pitched. Nick Hundley, Chris Denorfia and Erlin each drove in a run which was all the Padres would need for the night.

Two up, two down: Padres 3, Giants 2 – Jeff Sanders (U-T San Diego)
“It was exciting,” Erlin said. “I was happy to get it, even if it was a broken-bat single.”” [Brock]

Since July 1st, Huston Street has allowed 11 baserunners and no runs in 19.1 innings. He still has a -1.0 fWAR for the season. #PPLive
