While You Were Drinking: Game 132 (SD vs. AZ)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres lost 10-9 in 10 innings last night. This game was completely weird and I wish I had seen it in its entirety. Luckily there’s this.

The Tucson Padres put Robbie Erlin on a bus and sent him to Phoenix where he’ll join the rotation and face Wade Miley tonight at 6:40 pm.

Two up, two down: D-backs 10, Padres 9 – Dennis Lin (U-T San Diego)

“That’s got to rank right up there,” Gyorko said when asked if this was the wildest game he had been part of. “I’m sure it was fun for people to watch.” [Brock]

Jedd Gyorko comes oh, so close to putting the Padres ahead 11-9 in the 9th but it was not to be. Martin Prado got crazy and saved the game for Arizona.

Again – this game was whacky. I recommend watching the recap.

“Hey, man, what you go there?” “oh, its just one of those funny surveys.” “well, whats if got to do with?” “its pretty interesting, actually. Its on baseballs most forgettable team.” “That is interesting, how does one go about remembering a forgettable team? How did you come to your conclusion?” “We’ll, I tried to remember all ’30’ teams in MLB, and I kept falling short at 29. I could not for the life of me remember the 30th.” “really, there’s 30 teams in MLB? I always thought there was 29… that’s funny.” “yeah, until I read this article here I had no idea there was 30, like you, I thought there were only 29.” “Maybe its a trick question? you know, just a brain teaser type thing.” “nope, they list all the teams on the back side of the survey, and it say’s here that MLB has 30 teams, and that there’s 5 teams in California, You got the Oakland A’s, the San Francisco Giants, the LA Dodgers, and the LA Angels… and then You got this team called the San Diego Padres… which I never knew existed.” “Really? the San Diego Padres? I thought they were a Pacific Coast League team… that is so Strange.”
