While You Were Drinking: Game 129 (SD vs CHC)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

After a comeback win Friday night following Edinson Volquez‘s (hopefully) last appearance as a Friar, the Padres and Eric Stults came ever so close to beating Jeff Samardzija and the Cubs Saturday night. But — as the saying goes — close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, as the Padres lost 3-2.

The season series with the Cubs ends today at 1:10pm PDT with Andrew Cashner dressing the deer against Chris Rusin.

“Venable has a lot of momentum, a lot of confidence. He’s swinging great. When they make mistakes, he’s swinging, he’s not taking them. And he’s squaring them up.”
