Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (41-54) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (37-60), 5-2, in the first game of four at AT&T Park.

Jhoulys Chacin (9-7, 4.26) allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four in six innings. Denard Span singled and took second on the throw to home as Gorkys Hernandez scored and Span came home on a single by Eduardo Nunez in the sixth inning.

Madison Bumgarner (0-4, 3.57) gave up four runs over six and a third innings on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Hunter Renfroe came off the disabled list and hit a two-run home run in the second inning. Cory Spangenberg hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning. Jose Pirela scored in the eighth inning on Wil Myers‘ double.

Trevor Cahill (4-3, 3.14) gets the start tonight at 7:15pm PDT against Jeff Samardzija (4-11, 4.86).
