Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an afternoon at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (2-3) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (1-4), 7-6, in yesterday’s 2017 home opener at Petco Park.

Luis Perdomo (0-0, 8.44) gave up five runs in five and a third innings pitched on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts. After balking in Joe Panik for a run in the first inning, Perdomo shut the Giants out until loading the bases and giving up a grand slam to Brandon Belt with no outs in the sixth inning. Belt hit another home run, a solo shot, in the eighth inning off Ryan Buchter.

Matt Cain (0-0, 8.31) pitched just four and a third innings, giving up four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out three. Leading off in the first inning, Manuel Margot hit the first of his two solo home runs. Margot’s second home run came in his second at-bat to leadoff the third inning. Wil Myers scored on a Yangervis Solarte single later in the third inning. Solarte singled again in the fifth inning to score Travis Jankowski. In the seventh inning, Solarte hit a double to drive in Jankowski and Myers. Solarte then scored the Padres’ final run on a sacrifice bunt by Austin Hedges.

Tonight starting at 5:40pm PDT, Jhoulys Chacin (0-1, 24.30) gets the start at Petco Park against Madison Bumgarner (0-0, 3.86),
