Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (1-3) scored fewer runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (3-1) in yesterday afternoon’s series finale at Dodger Stadium, 10-2.

Jered Weaver (0-1) pitched five innings, giving up four runs on five hits — all four runs came from two two-run home runs by Yasiel Puig — and three walks while striking out just two. Puig’s first home run came with no outs in the second inning, driving in Chase Utley. Puig hit his second one in his next at-bat, in the fourth inning, with Joc Pederson on base. The Padres’ wheels came off after Weaver was taken out of the game, as the Dodgers scored two in the sixth inning and four in the seventh inning. Christian Bethancourt came in to pitch in the seventh inning and got Utley to ground out. However, Bethancourt walked the next four batters before being relieved by Brad Hand.

Brandon McCarthy (1-0) surrendered two runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six innings. Both Padres runs came on a Wil Myers two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Today, the Padres’ home opener starts at 3:40pm PDT, with Luis Perdomo (0-0) getting his first start of 2017 against the San Francisco Giants (1-3) and Matt Cain (0-0).
