Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (12-19) scored fewer runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (16-14) at Petco Park last night, 8-2, in the first of three games. And, at 4 hours and 11 minutes, it was the longest 9-inning home game in Padres history.

Jhoulys Chacin (3-3, 5.26) gave up one run on four hits and a walk in five and a third innings with three strikeouts. Cody Bellinger hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. In the seventh inning, Chris Taylor and Franklin Gutierrez scored on Andrew Toles‘ double. Taylor’s eighth inning single drove in Yasiel Puig. In the ninth inning, Yasmani Grandal singled to drive in Corey Seager and Bellinger hit a three-run home run.

Kenta Maeda (2-2, 5.81) allowed two runs (one earned) in five innings on three hits and three walks while striking out eight. In the fourth inning, Ryan Schimpf‘s single scored Cory Spangenberg. Erick Aybar came in for a run on Manuel Margot‘s sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.

Tonight at 5:40pm it’s Clayton vs Clayton as Clayton Richard (2-3, 4.29) goes up against Clayton Kershaw (4-2, 2.61).
