Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (12-16) scored more runs than the Colorado Rockies (16-11) last night, 6-2, in the first of three games at Petco Park.

Trevor Cahill (2-2, 3.60) limited the Rockies to one unearned run over six innings on three hits and no walks while striking out seven. In the second inning, Ian Desmond stole second base and came home on a two-base throwing error by Austin Hedges. The Rockies loaded the bases in the eighth inning and Alexi Amarista scored on Nolan Arenado‘s single that followed.

Tyler Chatwood (2-4, 5.40) gave up five runs on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts in five and a third innings. In the sixth inning, Cahill drew a walk and Manuel Margot‘s triple drove him in. Wil Myers hit a double one out later to drive in Margot. Yangervis Solarte and Ryan Schimpf then hit back-to-back home runs. In the seventh inning, Cory Spangenberg‘s single drove in Erick Aybar from second base.

Tonight at 7:10pm PDT, Jered Weaver (0-2, 4.71) gets the start in the second game of the series versus Antonio Senzatela (3-1, 2.81).
