Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (53-66) scored more runs than the Philadelphia Phillies (43-74) at Petco Park last night, 8-4, in the second of three games.

Dinelson Lamet (7-4, 4.78) allowed two runs on three hit and a walk with seven strikeouts in seven innings. Jorge Alfaro hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning, his first Major League home run. Rhys Hoskins hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning.

Mark Leiter (1-3, 4.38) gave up eight runs (four earned) in five innings on seven hit and three walks while striking out one. Yangervis Solarte‘s double drove in Carlos Asuaje and Cory Spangenberg doubled to score Solarte and Wil Myers in the first inning. Spangenberg led off the fourth inning with a home run. Spangenberg ground into a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning to drive in Asuaje, Solarte came in to score on a throwing error on Spangenberg’s steal of second base, and Hector Sanchez hit a two-run home run.

Clayton Richard (5-12, 5.14) starts this afternoon’s series finale against Nick Pivetta (4-7, 6.29) beginning at 12:40pm PDT.
