Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (51-64) scored more runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (81-34) last night, 4-3, in the first of three games at Dodger Stadium.

Clayton Richard (5-12, 5.14) allowed three runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out five in six innings. In the first inning, Justin Turner scored on a Cody Bellinger single but Bellinger was thrown out trying to take second base. Bellinger had another RBI single in the third inning to drive in Chris Taylor. Bellinger scored in the fifth inning on a double by Austin Barnes.

Rich Hill (8-4, 3.44) gave up two runs in six innings on five hits and three walks with nine strikeouts. Manuel Margot hit a solo home run and Carlos Asuaje scored on Cory Spangenberg‘s single in the third inning. Margot hit another solo home run in seventh inning. Jose Pirela led off the eighth inning with a home run.

Hill was grazed in the neck by a pitch while attempting a bunt in the fourth inning, but stayed in the game.

Jhoulys Chacin (11-8, 4.15) gets the start in tonight’s second game of the series against Hyun-Jin Ryu (4-6, 3.53) with first pitch set for 6:10pm PDT.
