Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (19-25) scored more runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (21-23) last night at Petco Park, 3-2 in eleven innings.

Cesar Vargas (0-2, 3.34) pitched seven innings, striking out seven with two runs allowed on four hits and a walk. The Dodgers’ only runs came on a Trayce Thompson two-run home run with no outs in the seventh inning.

Alex Wood (1-3, 4.17) struck out thirteen batters in six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk. Jon Jay scored on a Matt Kemp sacrifice fly for the Padres first run. An Alexi Amarista sacrifice fly in the seventh inning scored Derek Norris. And Yangervis Solarte returned from the disabled list, walking with the bases loaded in the eleventh inning to plate Wil Myers.

This afternoon, the Friars try to sweep their first series of the season. Colin Rea (3-2, 4.37) gets the start against Kenta Maeda (3-3, 2.87) with the first pitch at 1:40pm PDT.
