Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (17-24) scored fewer runs than the San Francisco Giants (24-18), 2-1, in the second game of three at Petco Park.

Drew Pomeranz (4-4, 1.96) gave up two runs in six innings on four hits and two walk with five strikeouts. Hunter Pence hit a two-run home run with no out in the fourth inning. Brad Hand, Brandon Maurer, and Ryan Buchter combined for three innings of perfect relief.

However, Johnny Cueto (6-1, 2.70) pitched a complete game, giving up just one run on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. The lone Padres run came in the second inning when Brett Wallace led off with a double and, two outs later, Alexei Ramirez singled to center field to score Wallace. That was it. The Padres batters never got past first base the rest of the night.

The series wraps up tonight starting at 6:10pm PDT. James Shields (2-5, 3.12) gets the start with Jeff Samardzija (5-2, 2.88) going for the Giants.
