Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (17-21) scored more runs than the Milwaukee Brewers (15-22), 8-7, in twelve innings at Miller Park last night.

Luis Perdomo (1-0, 9.77), normally a reliever, started the so-called “bullpen game” that was made necessary by the rain delayed game in Chicago and Andrew Cashner being placed on the disabled list yesterday. Perdomo pitched two innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walk with four strikeouts. Kirk Nieuwenhuis doubled in the first inning to score Scooter Gennett and Jonathan Lucroy. Brad Hand then pitched four shutout innings. Kevin Quackenbush gave up two runs on another Nieuwenhuis double then a sacrifice fly from Chris Carter to bring Nieuwenhuis home against Ryan Buchter. Alex Presley‘s single and a throwing error by Jose Pirela scored two more in the eighth inning against Brandon Maurer. And, with one out in the twelfth inning, Lucroy hit a solo home run off Carlos Villanueva.

Wily Peralta (2-4, 7.30) gave up six runs on eight hits and three walks with three strikeouts over four and two-thirds innings. Matt Kemp‘s single in the first brought Travis Jankowski home to put the Padres on the board and Melvin Upton Jr.‘s double brought Kemp home. In the third inning, Kemp hit an RBI double to score Wil Myers and Alexei Ramirez singled to score Kemp. Myers and Kemp hit back-to-back solo home runs in the fifth inning. Myers left the game in the top of the ninth with an apparent leg injury and was replaced at first base by Derek Norris. In the twelfth inning, Norris and Upton hit another pair of back-to-back solo home runs to put the Padres ahead.

Cesar Vargas (0-2, 3.54) takes the mound in this afternoon’s series finale against Zach Davies (1-3, 6.29). First pitch is scheduled for 11:10am PDT.
