Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (65-90) scored fewer runs than the San Francisco Giants (82-73), 9-6 in ten innings, last night at Petco Park.

Jarred Cosart (0-4, 6.00) left after giving up three runs on three hits and two walks in the first inning. After Cosart loaded the bases, Joe Panik singled to drive in Buster Posey and Hunter Pence and Eduardo Nunez scored on Angel Pagan‘s single. Jose Dominguez gave up three runs in the fourth inning. With the bases loaded again, Posey hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring Madison Bumgarner, Pence ground out, driving in Denard Span, and Nunez singled to score Brandon BeltKevin Quackenbush lost the game in the tenth inning with three runs scored against him as well. Kelby Tomlinson hit a single that Hunter Renfroe misplayed for an error, allowing Pagan to score. Span then hit a two-run home run.

Bumgarner (14-9, 2.71) allowed five runs on four hits and a walk in six innings while striking out five. All five runs were the result of home runs in three consecutive innings: Renfroe’s solo shot in the fourth inning, Derek Norris‘ two-run shot in the fifth inning, and Adam Rosales‘ two-run shot in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, Manuel Margot singled to drive in pinch-runner Travis Jankowski.

This afternoon, Clayton Richard (3-3, 2.98) gets the start against Ty Blach (0-0, 0.00) in the Padres last game against the Giants for 2016. First pitch is set for 1:40pm PDT.
