Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were were drinking.

The Padres (63-87) scored more runs than the Arizona Diamondbacks (63-87), 3-2, in the first of three games at Petco Park last night.

Clayton Richard (3-3, 2.98) shutout the Diamondbacks for six and a third innings until Kyle Jensen tripled to drive in Yasmany Tomas and Phil Gosselin singled to score Jensen. Richard ended his night after that, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out two.

Braden Shipley (4-4, 5.49) gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk in four innings with three strikeouts. Wil Myers hit a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning and Alexi Amarista hit a two-run single with the bases loaded.

Tonight’s second game will have Paul Clemens (3-5, 4.94) taking the mound against Archie Bradley (7-9, 5.07) starting at 7:10pm PDT.
