Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were were drinking.

The Padres (62-85) scored fewer runs than the Colorado Rockies (70-77) in the first of three games at Coors Field last night, 8-7, on a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Christian Friedrich (5-10, 4.78) gave up four runs on six hits and two walks in five innings while striking out five. Tyler Chatwood‘s single in the second inning scored Stephen Cardullo and Cristhian Adames, Chatwood, and Charlie Blackmon scored on a DJ LeMahieu double. Blackmon scored on a Carlos Gonzalez groundout in the seventh inning. In the ninth inning, with Brandon Maurer coming in to close out the game, a Gonzalez single drove in LeMahieu, David Dahl reached on a single, Nick Hundley singled to drive in Gonzalez and tie the game, and Daniel Descalso hit a walk-off single for the win.

Chatwood (11-9, 4.13) gave up all seven Padres’ runs on eight hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five innings. Wil Myers opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run home run with Jon Jay on base. Alex Dickerson hit a bases-loaded single in the third inning to drive in Travis Jankowski and Jay and a groundout by Luis Sardinas scored Ryan Schimpf. Jankowski scored on a Jay single in the fourth inning, but Jay was thrown out trying to take second base to end the inning. In the sixth inning, Sardinas led off with a solo home run.

Tonight’s second game will have Edwin Jackson (4-5, 5.32) taking the mound versus Jon Gray (9-8, 4.69) starting at 5:10pm PDT.
