Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (58-82) scored more runs than the Colorado Rockies (67-73), 14-1, last night at Petco Park in the first of four games.

Clayton Richard (2-3, 2.78) shutout the Rockies over seven innings while striking out eight on six hits and two walks. The Rockies only run came in the ninth inning, when Cristhian Adames hit a solo home run.

Jeff Hoffman (0-3, 5.60) lasted just two and two-thirds innings, giving up seven unearned runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts. The Padres scored those seven unearned run in the third inning. It was crazy.

In the fifth inning, Alex Dickerson scored on a groundout by Richard and a two-RBI single by Travis Jankowski drove in Ryan Schimpf and Derek Norris. Yangervis Solarte scored on a Ryan Schimpf double and a bases-loaded walk of Luis Sardinas scored Dickerson in the sixth inning. Norris hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning.

Tonight’s second game of the series has Luis Perdomo (7-8, 5.92) taking the mound versus Tyler Chatwood (10-9, 3.94) starting at 7:40pm PDT.
