Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (50-68) scored fewer runs than the Tampa Bay Rays (48-69), 8-2, last night in the first of three games at Tropicana Field.

Luis Perdomo (5-7, 6.68) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks in five and two-thirds innings while striking out five. Logan Morrison was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the first inning, scoring Kevin Kiermaier. In the second inning, former Padre Logan Forsythe hit a two-run home run. A double by Morrison in the eighth inning drove in Matt Duffy, Forsythe’s sacrifice fly scored Morrison, and Kiermaier hit a three-run home run.

Drew Smyly (5-11, 4.85) pitched seven innings, giving up one run on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts. Alexei Ramirez hit a solo home run in the first inning. A solo home run by Yangervis Solarte in the ninth inning capped off the Padres night.

Tonight at 4:10pm PDT, the Padres will send Edwin Jackson (3-2, 4.19) to the hill against Blake Snell (3-5, 3.18).
