Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (44-49) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (49-44), 4-2, at Petco Park last night to extend their season-long winning streak to five games.

Ian Kennedy (5-9, 4.78) pitched six full innings, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Gregor Blanco led off the third inning with a home run that just bounced off the top of the right field wall for the game’s first run. In the fifth inning, Buster Posey single to left field to score Joe Panik.

Tim Hudson (5-8, 4.76) lasted just four innings in his return from the disabled list, giving up three runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Matt Kemp hit a two-run home run to the Beach in right-center in the third inning. A Jedd Gyorko sacrifice fly in the fifth inning scored Yangervis Solarte. And Solarte’s single in the sixth inning scored Melvin Upton Jr., who led off the inning with a triple.

Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 26th save of the season.

Odrisamer Despaigne (3-6, 4.64) gets the start in the second game of the three game series tonight at 7:10pm PDT. The Giants will send Chris Heston (9-5. 3.39) to the mound.
