Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (42-49) scored more runs than the Colorado Rockies (39-50), 4-2, at Petco Park to open up the proverbial second half of the 2015 season.

James Shields (8-3, 3.92) pitched five innings while allowing one run on seven hits and four walks with six strikeouts. Shields labored through his start, throwing 100 pitches, and surrendered a leadoff solo home run to Charlie Blackmon in the fifth inning.

Jorge De La Rosa (6-4, 4.30) also pitched five innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts. With two outs in the first inning, a solo home run from Matt Kemp and a two-run shot by Jedd Gyorko put the Padres up 3-0. Justin Upton added a monster solo home run with two outs in the eighth inning off Rafael Betancourt.

Tonight at 5:40pm PDT, Tyson Ross (6-7, 3.34) gets the nod against Chad Bettis (5-4, 4.91) in the second game of three at Petco Park.
