Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after an evening in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (4-4) lost the opener of a three-game series to the Arizona Diamondbacks (4-3) by a score of 8-4 last night at Petco Park. Andrew Cashner (0-2, 4.09) was saddled with the loss despite not giving up an earned run and getting nine strikeouts in his six innings. However, the second inning was ugly, as a Yangervis Solarte throwing error (that could have also been an error on Yonder Alonso‘s part) helped the Diamondbacks score four runs.

Rubby De La Rosa (2-0, 7.15) also pitched six innings, surrendering three runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Yonder Alonso hit his first home run of the season in the bottom of the second inning into the Beach in right-center field.

Tonight at 7:10pm PDT the Friars send Odrisamer Despaigne (0-0, 0.00) to the mound — in the place of the injured Ian Kennedy — against the Diamondbacks’ Jeremy Hellickson (0-1, 6.23). It’s the first Taco Tuesday of the season.
