Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (35-38) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (38-33) late last night at AT&T Park. It took them 11 innings — and four  hours & three minutes — but they eventually pulled it off.

Odrisamer Despaigne (3-5, 4.83) threw five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walk with two strikeouts. Both Giants’ runs came in the fifth inning on a Gregor Blanco RBI single to score Matt Duffy. Followed by a double to center field by Joe Panik to plate Blanco.

Madison Bumgarner (7-4, 3.04) struck out fourteen Padres in his seven and a third innings, surrendering two runs on five hits and a walk. Matt Kemp struck out three times in his three at-bats before getting ejected in the eighth inning at the same time as manager Pat Murphy. Derek Norris and Justin Upton each struck out four times before each getting a hit (double & single, respectively) in the eleventh inning to start the winning drive. Alexi Amarista, who replaced Kemp in the lineup and played center field (Don’t get me started), singled in Norris from third base for the go-ahead run.

Craig Kimbrel struck out three out of four batters in the bottom of the eleventh inning for his eighteenth save of 2015.

Tonight, Ian Kennedy (4-5, 5.43) takes the AT&T Park mound versus Ryan Vogelsong (5-4, 4.38) at 7:15pm PDT.
