Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after an evening in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (24-26) scored more runs than the Pittsburgh Pirates (25-23), 6-2, on a walk-off grand slam from Derek Norris last night in the second of their four-game series at Petco Park.

James Shields (6-0, 3.69) and Francisco Liriano (2-4, 3.47) both pitched six full innings. Shields allowed two runs on six hit and two walks with six strikeouts. Liriano shutout the Padres on three hits and a walk with eleven strikeouts.

Jared Hughes allowed two runs while only getting one batter out in the seventh inning when Abraham Almonte hit a two-RBI double.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Jedd Gyorko, Almonte, and Cory Spangenberg loaded the bases with no outs. Alexi Amarista ground into a Fielder’s Choice to the shortstop to get Gyorko running home. With the bases still loaded, Yangervis Solarte then ground into almost the exact same play to the shortstop, who once again threw home to get Almonte. Then Norris — with four strikeouts so far on the night, a “Golden Sombrero” — came up and blasted 1-0 pitch into the Padres bullpen in center field.

Tonight at 7:10pm PDT, Tyson Ross (2-4, 3.84) takes the mound versus Charlie Morton (1-0, 2.57) at Petco Park. It’s Matt Kemp Replica Camouflage Jersey Night.
