Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (15-15) scored zero runs against the Arizona Diamondbacks (13-14) last night at Chase Field, 11-0. And you can’t win games when you don’t score any runs. It’s just math.

Odrisamer Despaigne (2-1, 5.13) gave up eight runs on ten hits and one walk with one strikeout in five innings. Home runs by Mark Trumbo and Paul Goldschmidt were really the only hits the Diamondbacks needed, though.

Rubby De La Rosa (3-2, 4.38) pitched seven shutout (obviously) innings giving up only three hits and two walk with seven strikeouts.

Oh, and Yonder Alonso left the game in obvious pain after landing hard on his right shoulder while diving for a ground ball in the eighth inning. Other than that, nothing special happened for the Friars.

Tonight’s matchup pits James Shields (3-0, 3.72) against Jeremy Hellickson (1-3, 5.20) at 6:40pm PDT.
