Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (73-85) scored fewer runs than the Milwaukee Brewers (68-90) last night, 5-0. The loss guarantees the Padres will not finish with a better record than last year. And, before the game, Matt Kemp was shut down for the remaining five games of the season with a torn tendon in his right middle finger. I’ll let Vocal Minority Nate handle the obvious joke.

Andrew Cashner (6-16, 4.34) actually pitched fairly well for the first five innings. It was the sixth inning that did him in. The Brewers scored all five runs in the sixth inning, all charged to Cashner, who struck out seven against five hits and two walks.

Justin Upton hit his head on the left field wall while trying to field a ball hit by Logan Schafer that ended up a triple in the first inning and was removed from the game.

Zach Davies (3-2, 3.71) pitched seven innings, giving up five hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

This afternoon is the last home game of the 2015 season for the Padres. Ian Kennedy (8-15, 4.38) gets the start versus Taylor Jungmann (9-7, 3.64) with first pitch scheduled for 3:40pm PDT.
