Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (67-75) scored fewer runs than the San Francisco Giants (73-68) last night, 9-1, in the first of three games at AT&T Park.

Andrew Cashner (5-15, 4.27) threw 117 pitches in just four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and five walks with seven strikeouts. Angel Pagan‘s single with two on and two outs in the second inning scored Kelby Tomlinson and Ehire Adrianza was thrown out at home plate for the third out. The Giants scored two more in the third inning, another two in the fifth inning, and four in the seventh inning.

Jake Peavy (6-6, 4.15) pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Justin Upton‘s 25th homer of the season, a solo shot to lead-off the second inning, was the only run allowed by Peavy and the Giants.

Tonight, Ian Kennedy (8-13, 3.99) gets to face-off with Madison Bumgarner (17-7, 3.05) at 6:05pm PDT.
