While You Were Drinking 2014 Game 26 (SD at WASH)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a few lazy ones on a Sunday afternoon at the pub. Or you get involved with mounting a new television to the wall and miss the first 6 innings. Either way, here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were doing stuff..

With a 4-2 victory the Padres earned a series split in DC moving their record to 12-14. Ian Kennedy pitched well, the Padres scored 4 runs, and Chris Denorfia and Cameron Maybin had multi-hit games. Life is good*.

*The Padres have failed to homer in the last five games. In terms of squaring-up baseballs, life is kinda bad.

The Padres return to the West coast to play a series against division leading San Francisco at AT&T Park. The Padres trail the Giants by 3.5 games and send Tyson Ross to the mound to face Madison Bumgarner at 7:15 PM on Monday night.

“With the schedule we’ve had,” Street said, “I’m proud of our guys, but now we have a huge series coming up in San Francisco. To win today was absolutely huge.” (Lin – U-T)

Yonder Alonso made a nice play at first base despite the wails from fans about his offense echoing through his mind.

Cameron Maybin returned in style with a double down the LF line.

Will Venable made a sick catch. Enjoy . . .

Ian Kennedy put it all together and helped the Padres get the series split.

After writing on Thursday about Everth Cabrera and his need to draw more walks he walked twice on Sunday. This time with the bases loaded. Excellent bat flip.

Everth alked. Everth walked!
