Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (62-67) scored fewer runs than the Philadelphia Phillies (52-78), 4-3, at Citizens Bank Park last night.

Colin Rea (2-2, 5.95) pitched five innings, allowing all four Phillies’ runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. In the second inning, Darnell Sweeney hit a two-run home run with no outs. Domonic Brown scored on a Freddy Galvis double in the fourth inning. Adam Morgan followed that double with an RBI-single to score Galvis.

Morgan (5-4, 4.03) pitched six innings while giving up two unearned runs on four hits and no walks with three strikeouts. In the fourth inning, Matt Kemp reached base on a throwing error by Galvis. After Justin Upton lined out and Derek Norris struck out, Yonder Alonso singled, scoring Kemp, who had stolen second base during Norris’ at-bat. Alonso ended up at second after an error by catcher Cameron Rupp. Melvin Upton Jr. then singled to plate Alonso. In the seventh inning, Jedd Gyorko added an RBI single.

In today’s series finale, James Shields (9-6, 3.89) goes up against Alec Asher (0-0, 0.00), who’s making his Major League debut. First pitch is scheduled for 10:35am PDT.
