Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire day at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres swept a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Dodgers yesterday.


Game 1

The Padres (60-75) scored more runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (92-42) in a rescheduled game because of rain from May 7th, 6-5, yesterday afternoon at Petco Park.

Clayton Richard (6-13, 4.94) allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six innings. Cody Bellinger grounded into a fielder’s choice in the first inning, scoring Logan Forsythe. Bellinger led off the fourth inning with a solo home run. In the fifth inning, Chris Taylor scored on a single by Austin Barnes. Justin Turner tied up the game in the ninth inning off Brad Hand with a two-run home run.

Brock Stewart (0-0, 3.21) gave up one run in four innings on two hits and four walks with five strikeouts. Manuel Margot scored on Jose Pirela‘s sacrifice fly in the third inning. In the sixth inning, Wil Myers scored on a Jabari Blash single and Hector Sanchez ground out to drive in Cory Spangenberg. Pirela scored on a Myers triple and a single by Spangenberg drove Myers home in the seventh inning. Yangervis Solarte hit a walk-off solo home run in the ninth inning.

Game 2

The Padres (61-75) scored more runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (92-43) last night, 7-2, at Petco Park.

Jordan Lyles (0-2, 6.71) allowed two runs on six hits and four walks in four and a third innings with three strikeouts. Curtis Granderson scored on Justin Turner‘s double in the first inning. Adrian Gonzalez singled to drive in Turner in the third inning.

Yu Darvish (8-11, 4.09) gave up five runs in three-plus innings on eight hits and three walks while striking out five. Erick Aybar scored on Hector Sanchez‘ ground out in the first inning. Carlos Asuaje hit a solo home run, Sanchez singled to score Aybar, and Cory Spangenberg & Sanchez scored on a double by Matt Szczur in the third inning. Sanchez scored on Yangervis Solarte’s single and Jose Pirela singled to drive in Szczur in the seventh inning.

The series finale this afternoon pits Jhoulys Chacin (11-10, 4.03) against Alex Wood (14-1, 2.41) beginning at 1:40pm PDT.
