While You Were Disappointed By Stores Being Sold Out Of Fans 2014 Game 151 (PHI vs SD)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an evening running around town trying to find a way to cool off. So here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were staring at empty shelves in the fan section.

The Padres (70-81) were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies (70-82) by a score of 5-2 last night at Petco Park. Yangervis Solarte, Tommy Medica, and Cameron Maybin each had two hits on the evening, but it wasn’t enough. San Diego Native™ and big childhood Padres Dodgers Padres fan Cole Hamels won behind 7 innings of 1-run ball. Eric Stults lost, as he’s wont to do.

The Padres struck first, Maybin singling to drive in Medica in the bottom of the 4th. It was short-lived, however, as the Phillies scored 4 of their own the next half inning. They would sustain that lead the rest of the way. The loss officially eliminated the Padres from postseason contention for the 8th consecutive season.

If you’re so inclined, you can watch these two go at it one more time, tonight at 6:10 P.M. Venue: Petco Park. Pitchers: Robbie Erlin (3-4, 4.89 ERA) and Kyle Kendrick (9-12, 4.72 ERA). Atmosphere: Bedlam.
