Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending a Sunday afternoon at the Gameday Sports Bar & Grill at Sycuan Casino. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (56-62) scored fewer runs than the Colorado Rockies (48-68) yesterday, 5-0, in the final game of a three-game set at Coors Field.

Ian Kennedy (7-11, 4.20) pitched six and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. Carlos Gonzalez hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. The Rockies scored three unearned runs with two outs in the seventh. Nolan Arenado reached on an error by Derek Norris, who was playing at first base. Ben Paulsen doubled. DJ LeMahieu was intentionally walked. A double by Michael McKenry cleared the bases and drove in Arenado, Paulsen, and LeMahieu. Even though replays clearly showed Austin Hedges tagged LeMahieu at the plate, the call was not reversed.

Chris Rusin (4-5, 3.99) threw a complete game shutout — the first shutout by a Rockies’ starter since Tyler Matzek beat (you guessed it) the Padres, 3-0 on September 5, 2014 — with five hits, a walk, and four strikeouts. The only real threat from the Padres came in the sixth inning, when Rusin loaded the bases with two outs. Facing Jedd Gyorko, the second base umpire called a balk on Rusin and Norris came in to score. But, then the umpires got together and decided it was not a balk and the 1-0 count to Gyorko never happened. Pat Murphy was ejected trying to get an explanation of what happened.

The Friars return home to Petco Park and take on the Atlanta Braves (53-64) for three games starting tonight at 7:10pm PDT. Colin Rea (1-0, 5.40) goes against Williams Perez (4-3, 4.21) in his second Major League start.
