While You Were (Day) Drinking: Game 139 (SD vs. SF)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a night in the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were (day) drinking.

The Friars were pummeled yesterday, giving up 6 home runs, 3 to Pablo Sandoval, and dropped the series finale to the Giants 13-5. Starter Eric Stults gave up 7 earned runs and the bullpen wasn’t much better on a bizarre home run infested day at a “pitchers park”.

The Padres have the day off today before looking to rebound with a 3-game set against the Rockies at Petco Park on Friday.

“We’ve seen Sandoval since he came into the National League,” said Padres manager Bud Black. “When he’s hot, he’s hot. He can hit any pitch. He’s tough to pitch to.” [Brock]

That’s Chase Headley running the bases after launching his 9th home run of the year, first since July 27th and first at Petco Park since June 11th.

Alexi Amarista hit an RBI double in the 6th inning pulling the score to 8-5.
