While You Were (Day) Drinking: Game 130 (SD vs CHC)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after a Sunday afternoon in the pub. Especially when the game goes 15 innings and you left Petco Park after the 10th inning with the game still tied at zero. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were (day) drinking. Or (designated) driving home.

Long game was long.

The Padres managed to beat the Cubs despite the game being scoreless until the top of the 13th, when the Cubs plated two runs. Fortunately, the Padres managed to tie it up in the bottom of the 13th thanks to “insurance policy” Ronny Cedeno. And finally won after a single by Nick Hundley scored Logan Forsythe in the 15th.

Andrew Cashner pitched 7 scoreless innings, only allowing 2 hits and 1 walk.

The Padres head to Arizona for three games against the Diamondbacks. Tonight Tyson Ross gets the start against Brandon McCarthy at 6:40pm PDT.

Luke Gregerson snares a liner off the bat of Anthony Rizzo with a man on second to keep the game scoreless in the eighth.

Ronny Cedeno fields a grounder, steps on second and makes a great jump-throw to complete the double play to end the 12th.

Nate Schierholtz gets hit in the helmet on a throwing error by Jesus Guzman, allowing the go-ahead run to score in the 13th inning.

Nick Hundley smacks a single into center that scores Logan Forsythe from second, giving the Padres a 3-2 walk-off win in the 15th

DENIED! Wrong jersey, kid.
