Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during a Sunday afternoon at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (20-31) scored fewer runs than the Arizona Diamondbacks (23-29), 6-3, in the finale of their three-game series at Chase Field. The Padres are 1-15 in series finales this season and 0-8 on Sundays.

Drew Pomeranz (4-5, 2.48) gave up six runs in five innings on five hits and four walks while striking out nine batters. With one out in the first inning, Brandon Drury ground into a fielder’s choice that scored Phil Gosselin from third base. Chris Owings led off the second inning with a solo home run. Two batters later, Archie Bradley bunted for an RBI single to score Chris Herrmann. After a Jean Segura ground out, Gosselin reached on a fielder’s choice to plate Nick Ahmed. Finally, Paul Goldschmidt doubled to bring Gosselin and Bradley around for the Diamondbacks’ fifth and sixth runs.

Bradley (2-0, 6.11) pitched seven and one-third innings, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk while also recording nine strikeouts. Christian Bethancourt‘s RBI single in the second inning scored Yangervis Solarte. Alexei Ramirez hit his first home run as a Padre with a solo shot in the fifth inning. Wil Myers ground out in the eighth inning to bring pinch-hitter Brett Wallace, who walked and advanced to third on a double by Jon Jay.

The Friars travel to Safeco Field for two games against the Seattle Mariners (28-21). Hot Vedder Cup action starts this afternoon at 1:10pm PDT with Andrew Cashner (2-4, 4.87) facing Nate Karns (4-1, 3.53).
