Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an afternoon at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (19-29) scored fewer runs than the San Francisco Giants (30-19), 4-3 in ten innings, yesterday afternoon in the series finale at AT&T Park. The Friars have yet to win a game this season against the Giants in nine chances.

James Shields (2-6, 3.06) pitched six strong innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts. In the second inning, Kelby Tomlinson hit an RBI single to bring Brandon Crawford into score. Matt Duffy hit an RBI single in the sixth inning to drive in Gregor Blanco. In the seventh inning, Denard Span‘s double off Ryan Buchter scored Trevor Brown. Crawford hit an RBI single off Brad Hand in the tenth inning to bring Duffy across the plate for the Giants’ victory.

Jake Peavy (1-5, 7.26) gave up one run in six and two-thirds innings on six hits and a walk while striking out four Padres. An Alexei Ramirez RBI scored Brett Wallace in the seventh inning. In the eighth inning, a two-run home run by Yangervis Solarte with Christian Bethancourt on tied the game at three runs. But that was it for the Padres.

The Padres have the day off today as they travel to Phoenix for three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks starting Friday at 6:40pm PDT. Christian Friedrich (0-1, 2.89) gets the start tomorrow against TBD of the Diamondbacks.
