Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an afternoon at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (11-17) scored fewer runs than the Colorado Rockies (13-14), 2-0, to drop the third of three games at Petco Park yesterday. The Friars are 0-9 so far in the final game of a series this season. That’s probably not ideal.

Cesar Vargas (0-1, 1.10) gave up one run in six innings, striking out three with four hits and three walks. Cristhian Adames ground into a fielder’s choice to score Tony Wolters in the fifth inning. In the ninth inning, with Brad Hand pitching, a sacrifice squeeze from DJ LeMahieu brought Mark Reynolds home for the second and final run.

Tyler Chatwood (4-2, 2.15) struck out seven in eight innings on three hits and a walk. The closest the Padres came to scoring a run came in the seventh inning. With two outs, Brett Wallace doubled and Adam Rosales came into pinch run for him. Melvin Upton Jr. then walked, but Alexei Ramirez grounded out to end any threat.

The New York Mets (17-9) come to Petco Park for four games starting tonight at 7:10pm PDT. Colin Rea (2-1, 4.61) takes the hill against Jacob deGrom (3-0, 1.02).
