Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during an afternoon at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (53-74) scored fewer runs than the Chicago Cubs (81-45), 6-3, yesterday afternoon in the finale of three games at Petco Park.

Paul Clemens (2-3, 5.06) allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and no walks in five and a third innings, while striking out six. In the first inning, Ben Zobrist‘s triple scored Dexter Fowler and Kris Bryant and a sacrifice fly from Jorge Soler drove Zobrist in. An error by Luis Sardinas in the sixth inning allowed Addison Russell to get to second base and Bryant and Zobrist to score. Willson Contreras‘ solo home run to lead off the seventh ended the Cubs’ scoring.

Kyle Hendricks (12-7, 2.19) gave up two runs in six innings on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. Ryan Schimpf scored on a sacrifice fly by Brett Wallace in the second inning. In the third inning, a Wil Myers triple drove Travis Jankowski in. Schimpf doubled in the eighth inning to drive in Alex Dickerson.

The Padres travel to Miami to take on the Marlins (66-60) for three games starting tomorrow at 4:10pm PDT. Jarred Cosart (0-1, 4.54) gets the start in the first game versus his former team and David Phelps (7-6, 2.28).
