While You Were (Day) Drinking 2014 Game 88 (SF vs SD)

Sometimes things get a little fuzzy after spending an an afternoon at the pub.  So here’s a friendly reminder of what you might have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (39-49) were defeated by the San Francisco Giants yesterday in the rubber game of their three-game series at PETCO Park.  Jesse Hahn (4-2, 2.34) was saddled with the loss despite allowing just three earned runs in seven innings while striking out five on five hits and two walks.  The problem once again was Tim Lincecum, who allowed just one run in 6 1/3 innings, striking out six with four walks and three hits, one of which was a solo home run by Brooks Conrad with one out in the seventh inning.

Yasmani Grandal got the Padres to within two runs with a two-out, tw0-run home run in the eighth inning off of Sergio Romo, but that was the extent of the Padres scoring.

The Friars travel to Denver to face the Colorado Rockies for three games starting tomorrow at 5:40 pm PDT.  Ian Kennedy (6-9, 3.87) starts the first game against Tyler Matzek (1-2, 4.25).
