Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (62-77) scored fewer runs than the St Louis Cardinals (71-67), 8-4, last night at Petco Park.

Travis Wood (3-5, 6.00) pitched just two-plus innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout. Jose Martinez hit a two-run home run in the first inning. Harrison Bader hit a three-run home run in the second inning. In the third inning, Paul DeJong scored on a fielder’s choice hit into by Yadier Molina and a throwing error by Yangervis Solarte and Stephen Piscotty singled Martinez in. Martinez hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.

Michael Wacha (11-7, 4.21) allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and three walks while striking out six in six innings. Jose Pirela and Solarte scored on a Wil Myers single in the first inning. Wood hit a two-run home run in the second inning.

Dinelson Lamet (7-6, 4.40) starts tonight against Jack Flaherty (0-0, 11.25) in the third game of the series beginning at 7:10pm PDT.

The Padres (57-70) scored more runs than the St Louis Cardinals (64-63) in their three-game series finale at Busch Stadium last night, 4-3.

Luis Perdomo (6-8, 4.84) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts over six innings. Jedd Gyorko doubled in the fourth inning to drive in Dexter Fowler. Paul DeJong scored on a single by Yadier Molina in the sixth inning. Randal Grichuk hit a solo home run off Brad Hand to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning.

Carlos Martinez (10-9, 3.48) gave up two runs (one earned) in seven innings on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Manuel Margot scored when Cory Spangenberg reached on an error and Matt Szczur singled to drive in Carlos Asuaje in the sixth inning. Asuaje drove in Jabari Blash with a single in the top of the ninth inning and Margot scored on Jose Pirela‘s sacrifice fly.

The Padres take on the Miami Marlins (63-63) for three games at Marlins Park beginning tonight at 4:10pm PDT. Travis Wood (3-4, 5.81) starts tonight’s game against Adam Conley (6-5, 4.93).

The Padres (41-52) scored fewer runs than the St Louis Cardinals (48-44), 10-2, last night in the first of four games at Busch Stadium.

Christian Friedrich (4-6, 4.55) gave up four runs (three earned) in five and a third innings on six hits and five walks with two strikeouts. Aledmys Diaz scored in the fifth inning on a Matt Holliday single. In the sixth inning, Matt Adams’ double scored Jedd Gyorko and Greg Garcia, Adams scored on a Diaz triple, and Stephen Piscotty hit a single to bring in Diaz. In the seventh inning, Randal Grichuk hit a two-run home run with Yadier Molina on first base and Gyorko followed him with a solo home run. Piscotty hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Mike Leake (7-7, 4.00) pitched six innings, surrendering one run on six hits and no walks while striking out eleven. Wil Myers got the Golden Sombrero, striking out four times in four at-bats. Matt Kemp hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Ryan Schimpf scored the other Padres’ run on an Alexi Amarista pinch-hit groundout in the seventh inning.

The second game at Busch Stadium is tonight at 5:15pm PDT. Colin Rea (5-3, 4.95) takes the mound against Carlos Martinez (8-6, 2.85).

The Padres (7-10) scored more runs than the St Louis Cardinals (8-8), 4-1, in the first of three games at Petco Park.

Andrew Cashner (1-1, 4.29) had a great game, pitching six innings and allowing just one run on three hits & a walk with four strikeouts. The Cardinals’ lone run came on a two-out solo home run in the fourth inning by Randal Grichuk.

Adam Wainwright (0-3, 7.25) gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two in six innings. Wil Myers put the Padres on the board with his one-out solo home run in the first inning. Myers drove in two more runs with a sacrifice fly in the third inning and an RBI double in seventh inning. Adam Rosales added a run with an RBI double in the fourth inning.

Tonight, Cesar Vargas makes his Major League debut after being called up from AA San Antonio. The Cardinals will have Michael Wacha (1-0, 2.76) take the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 5:40pm PDT.
