Padres and Pints: the Podcast! semi triumphantly returns with old friend Jonah Keri. Rick and Chris get down to business chatting about the Wil Myers contract extension, the state of the Padres farm system, plus the snoozefest that is the 2017 Padres promotional lineup.

Jonah joins to discuss the history of Tim Raines Hall of Fame candidacy plus Trevor Hoffman’s chances next year. Jonah also spits an amazing rant on owner Dean Spanos’ “work” building a stadium to save the San Diego Chargers.

Check out Jonah’s podcast here.

Also, shout out to friend honorary family member of the podcast Megan Olivi for her appearance in this week’s episode of Always Sunny in Philadelphia!

(Outro music is Lipstick by Not My Weekend)

Discussed things:

As I woke up this morning, I scanned Twitter and spotted this tweet.

I feel that it’s safe to say that Hacksaw may stretch the truth a bit on Twitter from time to time.

However, in this case, I can confirm that the news is indeed sadly true.

The inaugural Padres Public Online Scavenger Hunt is now over and done with and a winner has been named.

For those of you who weren’t paying attention — which based on the number of entries I received wasn’t as much as I expected — Padres Public managed to get a few copies of MLB Bloopers Deluxe Doubleheader and Prime 9: MLB Heroics DVDs from MLB Productions. So, I decided to have a online scavenger hunt through all of my posts in a series of 19 questions.

(If you find yourself asking “Why 19?” you should stop reading this blog and Google “San Diego Padres #19” right now.)

The winner is Nate, aka @Taterz1021 on Twitter, who correctly answered 18 out of the 19 questions I asked.

Let’s take a look at the questions, followed by the answer I was looking for and the post that it was contained in.

Last night, on Fox Sports San Diego‘s Social Media Tuesday, reporter Megan Olivi made a comment that her next major project would be getting Dick Enberg to sign up and use Twitter.

This led @Tater1021 to tweet the following:

The resulting replies using #TweetsFromEnberg were pretty much hilarious. At least to me. And that’s all that matters. It’s my blog, after all.

So…

What would happen if Dick Enberg ever got on Twitter?

I had the amazing opportunity to host the latest Padres and Pints at the Knockaround Padres Pep Rally at Mission Brewery a few weeks back. In it we chat with Ace from Knockaround, Padres radio voice Andy Masur, Megan Olivi saves the day and rescues Beau’s intro like a true pro, we talk beer with Adam from Mission Brewery, plus we stump the likes of Ducksnorts and Ben Higgins in a round of Padres trivia!

A BIG thank you goes out to Ace, Andy, Megan, Ben, Adam from Mission, Jordan, Tony, Garvin and every single person that took the time to chat with me that night. It was a complete blast!

Rumor has it that a few Padres Public members, and our good buddy Brady from Lobshots, will be appearing on Padres POV tonight at 6:00PM on Fox Sports San Diego (Cox 56/1056, AT&T 776/1776, DirecTV 694). It is a fantastic show that is hosted by the even more fantastic Megan Olivi.

Make sure you tune in and count how many Jeff Cirillo references there are and tweet us your comments using the #PPLive hashtag.

The last vestiges of Cary Chow’s reign of terror are finally gone from Fox Sports San Diego.

Nearly lost in all the hoopla last week of the Change the Padres video* was the announcement that Fox Sports San Diego had hired three new on-air talents. And, at the risk of sounding sexist and chauvinistic, they are — at the very least — easy on the eyes. That opinion has absolutely nothing at all to do with their obvious experience and qualifications, however.

*Meaning we ignored it like the bunch of dumbasses we are. We never claimed to be all that bright.
