Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an evening at the pub. Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were drinking.

The Padres (56-70) scored fewer runs than the St Louis Cardinals (64-62), 6-2, last night at Busch Stadium.

Jhoulys Chacin (11-9, 4.10) gave up five runs (four earned) on six hit and three walks while striking out three in four and two-thirds innings. Chacin also put four batters on base by hitting them with a pitch. Kolten Wong scored on a double by Tommy Pham and Dexter Fowler drove in Pham with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Jedd Gyorko hit a bases-loaded single to drive in Wong in the third inning. Chacin committed an error on a pickoff throw in the fourth inning and Greg Garcia scored. In the fifth inning, a Chacin wild pitch allowed Fowler to score. In the eighth inning, Gyorko singled to drive in Wong, but Pham was thrown out at home to end the inning.

Luke Weaver (2-1, 2.31) shut the Padres out over seven innings, striking out ten and allowing three hits and a walk. Matt Szczur scored on a Manuel Margot triple in the eighth inning. Cory Spangenberg hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.
