The Padres (68-90) scored more runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (90-68) in the second game of three at Petco Park, 6-5.
Luis Perdomo (9-10, 5.71) surrendered all five runs in five innings on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Chase Utley led off the game with a solo home run and Adrian Gonzalez added another solo home run two outs later. Gonzalez hit an RBI double to score Corey Seager in the third inning. Joc Pederson hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Jose De Leon (2-0, 6.35) lasted just two and a third innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks with a strikeout. Hunter Renfroe had four RBI, the first two coming on a bases loaded single in the first inning to drive in Manuel Margot and Yangervis Solarte and Ryan Schimpf drove in Renfroe with a double. In the third inning, Renfroe hit a two-run home run onto the roof of the Western Metal Supply Company building, the first player to ever do so in a game. Margot scored the Padres’ final run in the fourth inning on a groundout by Wil Myers.
Tonight’s 2016 Petco Park season finale will have Christian Friedrich (5-10, 4.66) taking the mound against Julio Urias (5-2, 3.53) starting at 6:10pm PDT.

Christian Friedrich (4-10, 4.99) gave up four runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts in four and a third innings. Yasiel Puig hit a three-run home run in the third inning. In the fifth inning, a Chase Utley single drove in Justin Turner and Puig scored on a single by Yasmani Grandal. Grandal hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning.
Jose De Leon (1-0, 6.00) won his Major League debut while surrendering four runs on six hits and no walks with striking out nine in six innings. Yangervis Solarte hit a two-run home run with Travis Jankowski on base in the third inning. Alexi Amarista scored on a throwing error on a Jankowski bunt single and Jankowski scored on a Solarte sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.
The Padres return home to Petco Park for three games against the Boston Red Sox (76-60) starting this afternoon at 1:40pm PDT. Edwin Jackson (3-5, 6.26) gets the start against former Padre Drew Pomeranz (10-10, 3.00).
