Sometimes things get a little fuzzy during a morning at Coffee Time, eh? Here’s a friendly reminder of what you may have missed while you were eating donuts, hosers.

The Padres (44-58) scored more runs than the Toronto Blue Jays (57-45) at the Rogers Centre yesterday, 8-4.

Luis Perdomo (5-4, 6.89) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four in five and two-thirds innings pitched. Devon Travis scored on a sacrifice fly by Darwin Barney in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, Kevin Pillar‘s RBI double scored Edwin Encarnacion and Ezequiel Carrera hit a single to plate Pillar.

R.A. Dickey (7-12, 4.66) pitched five and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs (six earned) on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts. Adam Rosales hit a two-run home run with Brett Wallace on base in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Christian Bethancourt hit a double that scored Ryan Schimpf, advanced to third base on a fielding error by Pillar, and scored on a throwing error to third base by Travis. Wallace hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. Bethancourt hit another double in the sixth inning, scoring Matt Kemp, and Bethancourt scored on a single by Wallace. Finally, Alex Dickerson hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

The Padres return to Petco Park for a nine-game homestand, beginning with three games against the Cincinnati Reds starting tomorrow night at 7:40pm PDT. Edwin Jackson (1-1, 4.30) takes the mound against Brandon Finnegan (5-8, 4.93).

The Padres (43-58) scored fewer runs than the Toronto Blue Jays (57-44) in twelve innings, 7-6, in the second game of three at the Rogers Centre.

Andrew Cashner (4-7, 4.76) pitched six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out six. Josh Donaldson hit a two-run home run with Jose Bautista on base in the first inning. Justin Smoak led off the Blue Jays’ fifth inning with a solo home run. A wild pitch on a Bautista strikeout brought Russell Martin across the plate in the seventh inning. In the twelfth inning, Bautista drew a bases-loaded walk from Paul Clemens to bring Kevin Pillar home, then a ground out by Donaldson drove in Darwin Barney, and another wild pitch by Clemens scored Devon Travis for the game-winning run.

Marcus Stroman (8-4, 4.92) gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six and two-thirds innings. Ryan Schimpf‘s RBI double in the second inning scored Yangervis Solarte. Alex Dickerson hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, driving in Travis Jankowski and Matt Kemp. Kemp hit a two-run home run in the top of the twelfth inning with Wil Myers on base.

This morning, Luis Perdomo (4-4, 6.93) gets the start in the series finale against R.A. Dickey (7-11, 4.44). First pitch is scheduled for 9:37am PDT. Read More…
